Celebrate Birth, Celebrate Life

For any mother who has carried her baby in her womb for nine months, finally hearing her baby’s first cry as she emerges from your belly is simply a joyous occasion.  Celebrating your newborn baby’s birth into this world is something which is at the top of your list.  What can you do to commemorate this momentous event in your lives?

Before anything else, friends and family should understand that you are only too tired and sleep-deprived to take on the planning details for a welcoming party for your newborn.  Instead of dropping by your place and potentially infesting your house with human-germs, well-wishers can instead give you a quick phone call or send flowers, a card or even food your way.

The grander celebration can come a few months after, when you and your partner have pretty much adjusted to having a baby in your lives.  By then, your baby will have become more physically resistant to infection, and can accommodate a few cheek-pinching sessions with your beloved guests.

A couple’s happiness over the birth of a newborn is almost infectious.  Just sympathize with them for the meantime and save the visits for later.  They will surely appreciate your concern.

Back To The Future

Yesterday afternoon, I felt like I was stuck in a time warp as I was watching old reruns of Doogie Howser, M.D. If you remember, this was a hit TV series back in the nineties about a 16-year old doctor. In those days, cell phones were the coolest gadgets of the day, and hi-tech gizmos such as the Garmin zumo 665 motorcycle gps were farthest from people’s minds.

Whenever I feel I need to take a break from the humdrum of everyday life, I just sit back and reminisce the old days. I turn on some 80’s or 90’s music and images of my single-blessedness spring back to life. I am instantly transported back in time to the days when I had fewer cares in the world. Moments like these are essential, as they help invigorate my soul, giving me a fresher outlook in taking on the challenges of today.

You should try that too. Travel back in time with some music or old TV flicks. Just don’t forget to return to the present.

Sexiness Is In The Mind

When I got up this morning, I have to admit that I was a teeny bit frustrated that the pair of hot skinny jeans my husband bought for me a month ago didn’t fit. Of late, I have been too busy with online work, that most of my hours were spent sitting in front of the computer. With the kind of work I do, I hardly break up a sweat.

Then again, sexiness is a state of mind. Feel sexy, and you will look sexy. We are what we conceive ourselves to be. And not even the best diet pills can do that!

How to let go of your kids, bit by bit

June 5th, 2011 Mom Posted in Personal No Comments »

Don’t be surprised if you suspect that your little boy might be taking a human growth hormone without your knowledge, because kids do grow up at an incredible speed- both physically and mentally.

As parents, dealing with this reality is somewhat causing us a great deal of distress. We naturally would want to hold on to them for much longer, but thing is, time is getting the better of us. And we don’t have it in our power to stop our kids from growing up.

We can help cope with this fact by dealing with it bit by bit. We must learn to slowly let go, as certain life events begin to unfold. For instance, when our kid starts to go to school, we should try to let him go and give him a shot at independence. And by the time he hits his adolescent years, we should gracefully embrace the fact that he may want to spend more time with his peers than with us.

Not Getting Better

May 17th, 2011 Mom Posted in Personal No Comments »

My husband is not getting any better. Often times he would say he couldn’t breathe and that he needs oxygen but where we live is next to a plantation so there’s a lot of oxygen around.

I am very stressed because I have to attend to him 24/7 and money is also running out! Thank goodness I have bought us travel insurance. I am already in contact with them and they told me to send them the forms I needed to sign and so as the receipts of the hospital bill. I wish I had a document management system so that I can easily organize all the paper works we need for the insurance company.

Multi Tasking Queens

May 1st, 2011 Mom Posted in Personal No Comments »

I guess when you are a mother, you will be surprised that you will slowly learn to master the art of being a consummate multi-tasker in no time. You have to keep a healthy balance between all your priorities, including, first and foremost, your husband and children, your work (in case of career moms), the duties at home, the errands you have to do and the bills you have to pay on time. More so when you are a mommy blogger, you’ll probably learn how to feed the baby whilst doing something else in your laptop. You’ll probably juggle posting on your blogs while updating your status on social networks and checking out hydroxycut reviews online.

Cheers to us the queens of multi-tasking!

Choosing Baby Clothes

March 29th, 2011 Fedhz Posted in Personal No Comments »

I was browsing the online baby store the other day because I am planning to buy something for my grandson. My “oohs” and “aahs” were endless because there are too many clothes for the baby. I even found baby footwear that looks like an equestrian boots. It is really very tempting to buy, but then again I realized that there are certain things to consider in choosing baby clothes:

  • Appearance is not everything, baby clothes should be comfortable to wear. The material of the fabric is very important.
  • It should be easier to change and wear, babies are quite messy and they require frequent change of clothes. Avoid buying clothes with too many buttons especially if you are always in a hurry.
  • Find something that is very easy to care and would not require special instructions such as dry cleaning.

Shopping in Just One Click

March 27th, 2011 Fedhz Posted in Fun Stuff, Personal No Comments »

Online shopping is one of the greatest things that happened in the internet. For busy people, they would rather doze off to dreamland rather than go to the store for shopping. Hence online shopping is very convenient for them. It provides a wide array of choices of different products, there is even an Extended Selection for clearance sale. Yes, you have read it right! Even online shopping provides clearance sale but less the people and long lines at the cash register area. Online shoppers get the same consumer rights; they are also entitled for refunds on product satisfaction. Some online store would provide free shipment of orders while others would charge a minimal amount, it would be almost equivalent to the gas money you’ll be spending when you drive to their store.

Nursing Career

March 1st, 2011 Fedhz Posted in Personal No Comments »

I think I have mentioned in my previous posts that I have a son who is a registered nurse. There is a great demand for nurses overseas and Filipino nurses belong to the top choice because they truly demonstrate tender loving care for patients. Nursing career is considered as one of the highest paying career thus more and more people are motivated to become a nurse. However, in reality as I see it, nursing can be a tough job. Not all patients are cooperative, most of the patients are even cranky yet nurses are expected to return that crankiness with a smile. It can be physically draining too, imagine pulling the medical computer carts if necessary or if asked to. I salute those nurses who really know how it is to properly care for their patients.

OxyElite Pro Results invites me to use the product

I am in the long search of fat burning products, as I am really having a hard time visiting the gym. With my hectic schedule, I cannot spare some time to have a session in a gym. With the many positive reviews and claimed positive oxyelite pro results, I am a bit invited to use this products. I am dying to lose some weight and shred some pounds, as I am getting huge each day. I am aware that obesity would cause high blood pressure, I do not want it to happen, and I am afraid of catching heart related diseases.
