Spring cleaning

February 16th, 2010 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

I’m doing some cleaning in my cabinet when I saw clothes that I don’t wear anymore. I decided to bring them to the Salvation Army so I went to the attic to get boxes. I didn’t find any so I went down to the kitchen where my husband is having breakfast. He noticed that I was looking for something, I asked him if he knows where the boxes were. He replied that they are in the garage. After I finish rearranging the mess, I went to the garage to look for the boxes again. They are at the very top of the cabinet which is too high for me.There were lots of dust and it made me sneeze. The boxes still contained old documents of insurances and some social security disability brochures. I just took them out and placed them in a smaller box and brought the box I needed for the clothes back to the bedroom. I finished just before dinner time, boy did I have lots of clothes to sort!

My New Toy

February 15th, 2010 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

When I arrived in Canada and got home, the first thing I took out from my luggage was the D-link wireless router and my new laptop . I bought the router awhile ago, I will try to make it work here in Canada. My son already gave up in making this router work back home.

I connected the router to the modem and then took out the laptop that I bought from my daughter. I showed the laptop to my husband but he wasn’t paying attention much,  he was busy looking for the Pineapple wine that I brought for him from Palawan. I turned on the laptop and amazingly it was able to pick up the wireless signal.

I checked my mail and I mistakenly clicked this link http://www.consumerpricewatch.org, it’s a pretty interesting site that provides you with information on the best beauty products available in the market today. I didn’t read too much though because I was already getting sleepy.

Sleepless Night

February 14th, 2010 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

After a few weeks traveling in Asia, I need to adjust with the timezone again. It’s 3 in the morning here and still I can’t sleep.I tried counting sheeps already in my head but it doesn’t work. My pimples are screaming already Go to sleep!! As much as I want to prick them out right now I’m afraid it might turn into a scar.

My beauty is all naturally maintained. I don’t usually use acne scar removal here in Canada, if it is not necessary. I once tried using an astringent and it peeled my face literally. I wasn’t able to go out for a week that time fearing that the sun might hurt my face. It’s one of my terrifying weeks in maintaining my beauty.

Well right now it’s almost 4 in the morning. I will try to get some sleep again.

Online Learning

February 9th, 2010 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

The last time I went to college was back in 2008.  Yes! I’m an adventurous woman that’s right!  I tried enrolling to a nursing school. Well things didn’t quite go well that time. I’m not admitting that I’m getting old, lets just say that I’m getting sensitive to dust, pollutions and all the traveling in the middle of the afternoon.

I totally agree with Sharon (My idol in the Philippines) about taking an online degree. When she showed up advertisement, I immediately went online to google online universities , luckily I found one but it  needs a personal appearance first so you can be enrolled at their university.  Too bad for me, I got so little time to do that, maybe when I’m done with my chores I’ll check it out again. Who knows I might be your next classmate chatting with you online.

Helping my daughter declutter

February 2nd, 2010 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

DeclutterMy daughter has difficulty parting with things. So on my vacation there I did help her out a bit on decluttering. I was amazed on how much stuff she keeps even if she would never use it again. She even has an epson receipt printer she got from somebody, she said she might use it in the future. I don’t think she will ever have the need for it so I just threw it away. She’s alright with it :)

Would You Invest in Real Estate Right Now?

May 8th, 2009 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

While the news and media has done a good job of scaring plenty people away from investing in any sort of real estate lately, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel that isn’t so widely talked about. I’ve been working with several real estate investors lately and doing a lot of reading. We’re not talking about simply going to NBC or CNN, but digging deeper into not-so-well-known blogs and interviews.

It seems that there are many out there who are more than willing to put their money where their mouth is. They are investing in homes, as well as commercial real estate. Of course, it’s only natural that some areas are expected to make a come back much easier and much sooner than other areas. Also, these are professionals who have seen down times before and understand that everything is bound to bounce back sooner or later.

But what about your average Joe like you and me? Would you invest into a home or commercial real estate right now with the confidence that it’ll eventually be a good investment? Or, would you say noway to investing into real estate with the way things are right now?

Is it Possible to Find Cheap Home Insurance?

October 8th, 2008 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

Many home owners are finding themselves in a bind these days. Home insurance companies have added an array of stipulations and extra measures to stay afloat. This is especially true if you own a home in an area that is prone to disaster… but who doesn’t, really? No matter where you live in the country, there’s something whether it be floods, tornados, hurricanes, or fires. Comparitive sites are by far becoming a favorite way of finding home insurance, because you’re able to see the differences between different companies and find the one that will fit into your needs and situation the best. You never know, even if you think yours is pretty good, you may find out that there is a better option out there!

Dream Home Theatre

October 8th, 2008 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

Have you ever dreamed of designing your very own dream home theater? I think that would almost be the coolest part of remodeling or building your own home (next to coming up with the perfect kitchen!) I was day-dreaming and looking around at different sites for home theater seating, and the picture I’ve used here is something I found I really like. It’s modern looking and looks like it would be so comfortable! Of course, with kids, I also like that it looks as if it would be easy to wipe spill off of the seating.

Orovo Detox Diet Pill… Tried it?

October 1st, 2008 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

Well, I guess Igot in too much of a rush one of my latest posts about the holiday season and weight. I dived deeper into a resource I found that seemed to have some great information, and am really liking the looks of the Orovo Detox pill. Have you ever tried it or know anyone that has? I’m a believer that we all have toxins and stuff in our bodies that should be cleansed out, although I’ve never tried a detox program.

The Orovo Detox pill seems cool. If you are an Orovo member, then you are encouraged to share your story once you see results. In fact, you can even earn money by referring others to it. I don’t see why anyone would do so if it didn’t really work. I haven’t tried it yet, so I’m not saying anything other than it looks like something that may be worth a try.

Hard Drive Overloaded

October 1st, 2008 Mom Posted in Ramblings No Comments »

I’ve always thought I was pretty good at bogging down my hard drives. Whenever I find a neat program, a cool game, or anything I’m likely to download it… even if I end up using it once or twice a year. I think what if I need it or want to play it sometime? Really, I’m not too hard on it though, at least not in comparison to my Mom!

I wouldn’t even want to know how many games she has. Every time we visit, she has a new game she downloaded that my son “plays”. I say it like that because he’s only 3-years-old, but he’s getting pretty good at clicking on what needs to be clicked on! Not only does she download game after game, but she spends most of her day, every day, playing with graphics in Paint Shop Pro. She runs and belongs to so many PSP groups where they have graphic challenges every week, contests, etc… and she finally bogged down her PC.

So off I went on a search to find a decent solution. I came across Micro SD, where I was able to find a suitable external hard drive for her without spending a fortune! So, at least for a little while, she has more room to play with. :)
