Helping my son out

Feb 15, 2010 under Uncategorized | no comment

workorderI have been busy lately, been helping my son to look for compatible jobs that he can do, while he is trying his luck in Singapore.  He doesn’t know yet what he wants in life. He is having difficulty choosing careers but he can’t wait forever in choosing a path. He has to find something now.

Back in my highschool days, the teenagers have to go to the town hall offices to see if there are new job posting in the bulletin board. They also check in the newspaper for job opportunities but nowadays, people use web searches and search engines to get what they want.

Vacation in Singapore

Feb 2, 2010 under Uncategorized | no comment

I just came back from a holiday Singapore. I visited my daughter there so we can spend some more time before I go back to Canada. We had a great time. We did a bit of everyting tourists do, some shopping and sight seeing.

Singapore is a shopping haven. If you are looking to buy electronics, it is the place.  Electronics like mobile phones, computers and cameras are way cheaper than in any country I have visited.

Holiday Hangover…Time to Get Back to Work

Jan 6, 2010 under Uncategorized | no comment

Saying that we all dread going back to work after a looong holiday would be stating the obvious – but I just did so what the heck :)

The workaholics might not agree, but for the rest of us who fully enjoyed the season, it’s time for the holiday hangover. It’s amazing how we can easily adapt to very short leisurely periods (the I-can-get-used-to-this feeling), but find it a pain in the butt to return to our everyday routine, you know, that thing called work (or school, or whatever it is that you have responsibilities to). Bosses (or instructors, or anyone superior) can’t seriously expect people to swing back full of energy the first day after the holidays, as they themselves must also be feeling the same. But hey, we’re back to reality now, and no, there is no sense holding on to the “good” days.

Just don’t stress out too much and do what we humans naturally do best: get back on track.

Vacation in the Philippines

Dec 10, 2009 under Uncategorized | no comment

In a few days I will be in the Philippines again to celebrate the holidays with my daughter at their farm. I am very excited about this trip as I haven’t seen the farm for along long time. I am curious to see on the changes that have taken place there since my last visit.

3 Easy Skin Care Tips to do Today

If you’re one of the millions of people who suffer with acne flare-ups and skin irritations, there are several things you can do to help. In fact, these are simple steps that can be done today and every day that may help keep you skin problems to a minimum (or at least reduce the amount of flare-ups you have).

Get Moving
Doing even a little bit of exercise each day can help keep acne at bay by reducing your stress levels (often from depression or low self-esteem stemming from skin care problems). When you exercise, avoid tight-fitting, synthetic clothing. They can trap your body’s heat and moisture, leading to a safe haven for bacteria to build. Choose loose fitting clothes that are made from natural materials or cotton; ones that will allow your skin to breather easier and get fresh air.

Make-Up
If you have to use make-up, try to choose ones that are oil-free and/or noncomedogenic. Think twice about using that sparkly, shimmering color, because they often have flaky minerals (mica) that is known to clog your pores… which leads to skin irritations.

Hygeine
Your skin care routine shouldn’t include any harsh scrubbing. Doing so can just irritate your skin more. Don’t over wash, either. Try to include a gentle exfoliation a couple of times a week, but not anything too abrasive. Avoid alcohol products that dry out your skin, and can even remove a top layer of skin… a combination that only leads to more oil being produced by your glands.

A New, Fun Social Network that Pays You

Aug 30, 2008 under Uncategorized | no comment

The other day I was browsing around Squidoo after working on Website Content Writing, and came across something. I think I was looking at some of the lenses that give tips to help better your own lens. Anyways, I seen someone recommend APSense. I’m willing to bet that you haven’t heard of it. Right? Yeah, I hadn’t either.

So off I went to have a look at this free social network that pays you. It’s actually a very cool place. However, I’ll tell you that there is A LOT of tools and resources here. Luckily, I immediately became friends with a lady there who was extremely helpful. In fact, I’ve only been there a few days and I’ve met several great people that I’m already networking with. Now I have my own website content writing and solutions business center there, and you can set up a free business center as well.

If you think you woud be interested in a great networking community and maybe even make some money along the way, definitely check it out. They have some very innovative ideas at work inside! I’d love it if you would join my network there if you decide to give it a go. If you have any questions just let me know!

$9 Metallica Concert Tickets?

Aug 23, 2008 under Uncategorized | no comment

metallicaIf you love music, but can’t stand to shell out hundreds of bucks for a good seat at your favorite concert, then hope and pray that more bands will follow Metallica’s way of thinking. When a good seat can cost you a week’s paycheck, it isn’t always something we can do no matter how much we would like to. I’m not an enormous fan of Metallica (I like some of their songs), but if they were to play near me I think I’d spend a whole $10 bucks to see them!

They are offering tickets from $9 to $14 to promote their album… which these days is completely unheard of. So, if you’re a big fan then start buying your tickets asap as I’m sure they will be gone before you can say the word “gone”. Thankfully, my son isn’t old enough to be begging for concert tickets yet! :)
