Weight loss

Mar 17, 2010 under Personal | no comment

I was talking with my daughter recently about our weight gain. Both of us have been complaining about it. It’s winter time in Canda at the moment so that weight loss won’t be happening anytime soon for me. I really feel lazy during winters. I am like a bear hibernating during this time. I did try once  a quick weight loss program but I quit after just a day of training. I guess I was not motivated enough at that time.

I promised myself I will lose weight just before we relocate to the Philippines as I do want to look good on the next family reunion.

Aging Gracefully

I am looking at myself at the mirror today, I see lines on my face. I am alright with it. I am not rich nor famous so I cannot really afford to have a personal trainer to help me keep fit and I cannot afford to get treatments like botox and the like either. What I do is take  multivitamin and do exercise at least 30 minutes a day. I think I do look well for my age. I guess it’s just about one’s mindset.

Winter Blues? Look for Vacation deals and run away from the winter

Mar 8, 2010 under Personal | no comment

After spending more than a month in a warm country I realized again that it’s so darn cold here in Canada. There’s not much one can dohawaii during the winter other than eating and watching t.v. and chatting with my friends online. I wish I was on vacation somewhere warm like the Philippines or even better Hawaii.

Well since I am now online, I am scouring the net for what I can do to keep me from getting the winter blues, as it happens I saw this discount coupons from Hawaiian Airlines, and I am really tempted to book a trip but we are also preparing to move to the Philippines before the next winter and we need all the money we can save for this move…*sigh*

To bring or not to bring

Mar 7, 2010 under Personal | no comment

As I told you recently, we will bee moving to the Philippines. We are hoping to do that before the next winter. Our dilemma now is should we bring our Samsung television we just bought or just sell it here and buy a new one in Asia. Because I know that there’s a possibility that it might break or something while it’s being transported.

Another thing I feel sad leaving behind is my cat Bubba. He is already quite old so hubby said he might not survive the travel. *sigh*

Moving to the other side of the world…again

Feb 25, 2010 under Open Your Heart | no comment

moving_truckWe plan to move to the Philippines before the next winter comes. We will move next to my daughter’s tree farm. My husband is very excited about this move as he grew up in a farm as well. In fact he already started to sort out our stuff and sell the ones we cannot bring with us. I also already ordered some boxes for the ones we would bring. If only our stuff were so easy to pack like pop displays , moving with certainly be a breeze. But it’s alright, I know it would be great as we will be then closer to my family.

Mesothelioma

Everyday, watching news from the cable is my usual routine. Once in awhile I go online to read in fascinating things that is happening in the Philippines. I also browse internet to see what is the hottest news and sometimes checks the weather forecast. I was doing the laundry when I remembered to check my emails.  As I go online, there was this health message in my inbox which is about the causes Mesothelioma.

I got curious, so I opened and read it. It says in the letter that there are carcinogenic materials (materials that causes cancer) that came from asbestos, which is a common material use in construction site. I really appreciate that I got the health advisory because a few weeks from now, We will be redecorating the house and might use asbestos in the process. We are just going to be careful in using that material in redecorating the house

My Skin Regimen

I never had imagined that my face will survive without the help of any wrinkle lotion. It has been a year since I last used Ponds. One of the products in the Philippines that my face already got used to.

Ever since I started to use make up products, Ponds never failed me. Well, I haven’t tried other beauty products in the market because of two reasons. Why? besides from there expensive price, they’re not really tested specifically for Philippine skin. And why gamble on other skin care products if you could have the same effect with as twice as low as the original price .

Beauty maintenance

Eucalyptus-Tea-Tree-SoapBeing beautiful means being disciplined. Maintaining a figure that looks like 15 years younger means high maintenance. Exercise in the morning, a bit of  adult acne treatments when needed, healthy meal  everyday. Though beauty maintenance may require a little bit of budget, the feeling of satisfaction is quite fulfilling.

My 2 kids are all grown up now. One is starting a new career and the other one is starting her very own family. They are both vain and use special soaps everyday for their faces. They’re quite busy person but luckily they always never forget to wash their faces. I wonder where they got that from?

Some weight gain

weight loss On my visit to the Philippines, my friends commented that I gained a lot of weight after living in Canada for more than a year. I know I did gained several kilos but what can I do, it’s so freaking cold where I live to do anything.

But I will lose all these extra kilos this year. My plan is to do a lot of walking, dancing, lifting and if I have the chance go to the gym. I am thinking of trying some weight loss supplements, but I know that alone will not help, I need to exercise too. Basically, discipline is the key in maintaining a healthy body.

Walk in the park

Feb 16, 2010 under Ramblings | no comment

I was walking my dog to the park when I saw this huge billboard, it doesn’t have much but it has this big picture of a lady with before and after effect of the anti aging product. The changes in her face is noticeable. We then crossed the street with caution to get to the park.

I sat down on the bench and rested for a few minutes, took a few sips of water then started to walk again. I was surprise, when a familiar voice called my name. It was my best friend who was calling me. I stop and waited for her to catch up. After a few minutes more, she mentioned that she’s craving for pancakes. We ended up eating at the diner near the park.

We had a nice chat, it was a great day!
